Ethics
INTRODUCTION
Members shall conduct their business ethically and shall not act in a manner prejudicial to or likely to bring discredit upon the prestige and good reputation of the Association or any of its members. MEMBERS UNDERSTAND THAT THE (MTPC) ASSOCIATION OPERATES FOR THE MUTUAL BENEFIT OF ITS MEMBERS, CLIENTS AND APPLICANTS (CONTRACTORS).
DEFINITION OF MEMBERS
A member hereinafter referred to within the Code of Ethics shall be defined as any private employment agency or personnel consulting firm who is a financial member of the Melbourne Technical Personnel Consultants Inc.
DEFINITION OF CONTRACTOR
A contractor hereinafter referred to within the Code of Ethics shall be defined as any person, seeking or contemplating temporary engagement, who has provided any member with personal details or a curriculum vitae or resume.
DEFINITION OF A CLIENT
A client hereinafter referred to within the Code of Ethics shall be defined as any person, firm or company seeking to engage contractors who or which has paid or agreed to pay or become legally liable to pay any member a professional fee for service or hourly hire rate.
RESPONSIBILITY TO THE INDUSTRY
To serve as a reliable source of information on a wide range of matters relating to employment and associated personnel functions. TO PROVIDE A STANDARD OF QUALITY AND PROFESSIONALISM IN THEIR SERVICES THAT NON-MEMBERS WOULD SEE AS "THE BENCHMARK."
RESPONSIBILITY TO THE CONTRACTOR
To service the contractor in good faith and with professional responsibility and to strive to preserve their right to choose their field of endeavour and to use their ability for their own fulfilment and for the good of the country and to respect every confidence entrusted by contractors.
RESPONSIBILITY TO THE CLIENT
To represent the best interests of the clients by acting as an effective extension of the client's recruitment function and respect every confidence entrusted by clients. TO REDUCE THE CLIENTS WORKLOAD AND FRUSTRATIONS BY PROFESSIONAL PRACTISE.
STANDARDS OF ETHICAL PRACTICES
All members subscribe to, and have agreed in writing, to observe this Code of Ethics, in the conduct of their business.
